How to Solve the problem of water leakage of centrifugal pump shaft seal?

The slurry pump is divided into horizontal slurry pump, vertical slurry pump and submersible slurry pump according to the installation method. Vertical slurry pumps generally do not need shaft seals and can be ignored. The sealing method of the horizontal slurry pump refers to the shaft seal of the slurry pump, which generally has three types: packing seal, impeller + packing conforming seal and mechanical seal. Then let’s analyze the advantages and disadvantages of these three types: the slurry pump and desulfurization pump produced by Amostech Pump .

Packing seal: There will be dripping during the operation of the pump, and high-pressure shaft seal water needs to be added (one kilogram greater than the outlet pressure). The advantage is that the price is cheap, and the disadvantage is that the pollution at the use site is serious, and the seal needs to be compressed frequently.

Impeller plus packing seal: it is composed of two packings and impeller. It will drip when the pump starts and stops. It can be added with butter or shaft seal water. Advantages do not need shaft seal water, disadvantages have 5% power loss

Mechanical seal: There is no leakage during the operation of the pump, but the price is high. External flushing machine seal, general normal pressure flushing water. The inner flushing machine seal needs flushing water one kilogram higher than the outlet pressure. There is no water machine sealing and no need to add flushing water. The advantages are clean and pollution-free on the site.
